CBL has organised a tour of SRA’s Brandon Station for younger growers to learn firsthand about the plant breeding process from SRA’s Variety Officer Catherine Kettle followed by a research project update from SRA Burdekin District Manager Terry Granshaw.
Program:
-Plant breeding process from seedlings to release.
-Planting a herbicide trial.
-Use of NIR (Near-infrared spectroscopy).
-Updates on drones, automated irrigation project, and soil health subsurface trial using mill mud and organic material
