Tinashe has research development and management experience from universities and multinational research organisations. His career has been equally split between postdoctoral research (in plant molecular genetics) and research administration.

Prior to joining SRA, Tinashe led the Research Partnerships and Development team at the Queensland Alliance for Agriculture and Food Innovation (QAAFI) at The University of Queensland.

Despite his Japanese sounding name, Tinashe hails from Zimbabwe. He has visited and worked in cities, towns and villages in Africa, Europe, the United States and the Asia-Pacific region.
