Dr Stephen Mudge has a background in plant molecular biology, with more than 20 years’ postdoctoral research experience. He has worked on both fundamental and applied research projects at CSIRO and The University of Queensland in Australia, as well as at HortResearch in New Zealand.

Prior to joining the Research Funding Unit, he had more than 12 years’ postdoctoral experience working on sugarcane, in the areas of molecular biology and biotechnology and more recently the microbiology of sugarcane.
