Chuong Ngo is a molecular biologist who has previously worked on herbicide tolerance GM sugarcane, chlorotic streak causal agent discovery, Ramu stunt and the leaf sheath biopsy (LSB) sampling method for ratoon stunting disease (RSD). He oversees the RSD molecular diagnostics and soil assay labs and is involved with some variety disease ratings. He is also currently part of the modernising diagnostics project that is upgrading diagnostics for several important diseases.
