Commencing in Mackay, the 2025 Milling Research Seminars continued through to Condong, Bundaberg, South Johnstone and concluded in Townsville.
Each year SRA and partner, QUT, conduct these seminars to update sugar milling technical staff on progress and findings of SRA-funded research projects.
A member of SRA’s Research and Business Development team were present to discuss SRA’s broader portfolio of research for 2025 and beyond.
An SRA District Manager was on hand to give a brief summary of this year’s District Productivity Plan for your region. QUT researchers Geoff Kent
and Darryn Rackemann, together with Rudi Bartels and Barton Wixted from Griffith University and Stephen Xu from Charles Darwin University
discussed the milling projects they are working on.
SRA’s NIR Support Engineer Joel Simpson gave a presentation on the value of NIR in the sugar industry. The panel sessions gave
participants plenty of opportunity to ask questions. Learn more about the milling research projects at the SRA Research Projects web page.
