Case closing on leaf scald outbreak in SRA26 crop

SRA Variety Development General Manager Dr Garry Rosewarne, Leader Field Pathology Dr Seona Casonato, and Variety Manager North Dr Felicity Atkin, have visited the farm of a grower at Mena Creek to inspect a crop of SRA26 infected with leaf scald.

“Leaf scald symptoms have not progressed further into the crop since they were first discovered, and still show atypical symptoms, indicating a resistance response,” Variety Development Manager, Garry Rosewarne said.

“SRA will continue to monitor this crop, however, if infection does not change, this will be the final report on this occurrence,” he said.

All growers should contact SRA in the event of SRA26 showing any further symptoms of leaf scald.
