SRA has been asked by our Members, industry representative bodies and levy payers to provide RD&E solutions that help improve production on the farm and at the mill, and which can transfer this knowledge into practice fast. Creating efficiencies through stronger collaborations with industry and other research organisation is also essential.
The SRA Strategic Plan 2013/14-2017/18 details eight key focus areas that we will invest in to respond to these needs.
The SRA Board has also identified four priority Impact Areas that require urgent attention and focus from the SRA research agenda. These four areas have been prioritised for SRA investment:
- Adoption of research
- Conventional and GM plant breeding
- Solving Yellow Canopy Syndrome
- Minimising harvest losses.
